North Shore: Nice & Lucerne

Nice and Lucerne line the north shore of Clear Lake and are long known for their wide views across the water to Mount Konocti. The stretch has been nicknamed the Lake County Riviera.

Highway 20 strings the north-shore towns together, from Clearlake Oaks through Glenhaven and Lucerne to Nice, and it is one of the prettiest drives in the county, with plenty of turnouts for photos of the lake and Mount Konocti. In spring the slopes above the road turn bright with wildflowers.

Lucerne has two county lakefront parks with room to launch a boat or spend an afternoon on the shore.

Homes range from older lakeside cottages to view properties on the hillsides above the highway, and several have lake access or docks.

Because views and water access vary lot by lot, compare specific addresses rather than the town name.
